Actual files are served from a site called SourceForge, so do not be alarmed when clicking on a download link brings you to a SourceForge download page.

SourceForge is a highly-trusted site used by a large number of software projects as a means to offer fast and easy downloads and installation. For more information about SourceForge, check here and here.

Upcoming Stable

The next stable release will be 1.4.0. We are currently at 1.4.0 Release Candidate number 6 (RC6). If you find any problems with it please report them in our bug tracking system, so they could be fixed before the final release. If you have a problem with this version and need to get some work done fast please use the "Old Stable" version below.

Note: Newer Scribus version can open the older version's file, but the opposite is not true. Scribus 1.3.3.14 cannot open Scribus 1.4.0 files. There is no way to convert the file back once you switch it to the newer branch. However, you can run both branches in parallel to test the new functionality.

Old Stable

Current stable version is 1.3.3.14. It is not maintained anymore. This is the last 1.3.3.x series version. Use it only if you have a specific reason not to use 1.4.0rc6.

Developmental

This is where the exciting new features of Scribus are going. However, there could be many stability problems due to frequent changes, so you are only advised to use this version for small very specific tasks and for keeping abreast of the Scribus development, but not for day-to-day production work.
