Not a criticism, but a note to others that these pages look quite old, and appear to me need to be taken with a grain of salt. For example, when inserting the photograph, they note X position, but not Y position. So, where does the photo get cropped? If I were any less experienced with trying new (to me) software, I might be thinking I'm doing something wrong. But it seems like a shortcoming in the lesson itself. My point here is to reassure the user that whatever they are doing may not match the lesson exactly, and that they might regard these lessons as guidelines. When I first looked for tutorials here, some page referenced ink colors and fonts that did not exist on my system. At first I was very put off, not knowing what to do about it. But then I realized I'd just use what I had. | |||

Because of the margins(35,30,25,20), half of the page in this tutorial gets cut... Is that expected behavior? I mean, the tutorial make syou put the image outside the margins, doesn't it? Towsonu 23:01, 21 February 2007 (CET)
I wouldn't say half, but yes, it'll crop the image/page. Usually, you always leave some space reserved for bleeding (those which will be printed).

Fyug images?
I am brand new to Scribus & DTP and Wiki. I have successfully downloaded Scribus and am attempting to follow the "Get Started With Scribus" tutorial. Is this where I post questions?
I have two questions: 1. The tutorial has you work with images to create a Fyug project. However, I cannot find where I go to download the sample images. Can someone help me find them? 2. The tutorial has me set up the magazine in mm rather than inches. Is there a reason for this? Also, when I attempt to set an image box properties, I cannot set the width and height without the other changing. For example if I set the image properties to XPos and XPos of 0 then the width to 8.5 inches, the height becomes 12.0565 inches. If I change the height to 11 inches, the width changes to 7.7552 inches instead of the 8.5 that I had entered. Why is it not allowing me to set both the width and height to my chosing?
Now I just hope I can find my answer when I log on next.
Thanks.

@Penny: I wondered the same thing, until I went out to the Introduction page for this tutorial and found a link to a site where these files are located: http://linux.hanski.info/static/download/fyug_orig_files/FYugFnl.tar.gz - hope this helps, if you're still looking for these files!
