- Debian/Ubuntu GNU/Linux - Official Scribus Team's "The Scribus Archive" for Debian and Ubuntu packages.

- Mandriva - See the instructions on the Mandriva Wiki for more information on adding this repository for Scribus and other complimentary packages for working with Scribus. This repository includes both i586 and x86_64 RPMs for Mandriva 2009.1 and 2010 created by the Scribus Team.
- RedHat/Fedora - The preferred method is to use the versions from mrdocs' repository. For those who may be mainly familiar with YUM, download the RPM of your choice, then as root: rpm -ivh scribus-version-as-chosen.
- SUSE - See: YAST docs for more information on adding this repository for Scribus and other complimentary packages for working with Scribus. This repository includes both i586 and x86_64 RPMs for OpenSUSE 10.3 and later, along with RPMs for SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 and 11.
- OS/2 and eComStation - Download from the SourceForge.
